What is a Personal Stylist?
Much more than a personal shopper, our Unfoldid Stylists have been trained on the science of style. There are many silhouettes, and once your Stylist has determined your personal silhouette, they will educate you on the styling rules that go with that silhouette. Our scientific approach takes the guesswork out of styling, and we help clients dress for their body type to look and feel their best!
Why would someone need a Personal Stylist?
If you continue to add pieces to your wardrobe that don’t quite portray your personal style or don’t work well with the other pieces in your wardrobe - you are the perfect candidate to work with a Personal Stylist.
If you have a closet full of clothes but still feel you have nothing to wear, our Stylists help you add essential pieces to your wardrobe so you’re prepared for any event or occasion, at any time of year.
If you’d like to elevate your look for work or everyday life, our Stylists give you the tools to do that.

Why is working with a team of stylists better than an individual stylist?
When you work with a personal stylist, the process should be seamless. While you build a relationship with your Unfoldid stylist, our entire team works together to find you the best looks, conveniently book your appointments, and track your preferences. We’ll never be too busy to answer your questions or help you during a fashion emergency!
Is Unfoldid like Stitch Fix?
Unlike Stitch Fix where an algorithm chooses items based on a one-time questionnaire you answer, Unfoldid stylists take the time to understand your style profile and preferences individually. You then receive a personalized experience where a stylist meets with you to try on each clothing item so you understand why each item was chosen specifically for you and how it can work with your current wardrobe. That way you can feel confident in what you purchase and any pieces you don’t intend to purchase, our team will return at no extra charge.
What brands does Unfoldid shop from?
Your completion of the Style Profile Form before your style appointment helps the Unfoldid stylist team understand the brands and stores that will work best for your silhouette, personal style, and budget. We shop everywhere and anywhere to source the best options for your body type and personal preferences. While we shop from popular designers, we also love to introduce you to new brands we think you will love!
How is Unfoldid different than stylists at department stores like Nordstrom?
Unfoldid does not keep any inventory. After you book your appointment, our stylist team will shop for you exclusively. Unlike department stores, we are not obligated to shop any one retailer or brand. This opens your wardrobe to more possibilities and unique pieces. No matter what your budget, Unfoldid can help you add the right pieces to your wardrobe and shop smarter!
Does Unfoldid shop local brands?
We love shopping local! Our Unfoldid Stylists shop everywhere and anywhere, this includes local boutiques and retailers. Have a favorite store? Let us know in your Style Profile Form!
Does Unfoldid work with men?
Yes, our Stylists love (eh not sure about using “love”) working with men. We offer a separate Style Profile Form that is tailored to men and is easy to complete on a mobile device. It can also be completed by partners booking for their spouses.
Does Unfoldid work with teens?
Yes, with a parent’s permission we work with teens to find an age-appropriate style that both parents and teens will love. Our Stylists work with many clients styling for their bar/bat mitzvahs, back to school, or just seasonal dressing. Let Unfoldid take the stress out of shopping and dressing your tween or teen, our professional stylists will bring an objective eye to the situation to minimize parent/teen conflict and achieve peace while having your teen looking fabulous.
Does Unfoldid work with professionals as an image consultant or personal brand consultant?
Yes. We work with professionals across the spectrum from high level executives to on-air personalities. We help you analyze and determine the appropriate look you need for your current or future position. Unfoldid will also refine your personal brand through the visual impact of clothing and grooming to create a complete look. Whether you are just starting out, entering a new field, or looking for your next move up - we can help!
Booking Service
What is a silhouette fitting by Unfoldid?
Unfoldid offers 3 packages: 1-hour Style Unfoldid, 2-hour Style Insider and a 3-hour Style ID. Each package includes a silhouette fitting at your first appointment to determine your silhouette based on your measurements. Once we understand your personal silhouette, your Unfoldid Stylist will educate you on the guidelines that correspond to your specific silhouette. The 3hr Style ID includes additional services to fully define your identity such as your basic coloring, proportions and our Top 20 Wardrobe Essentials. This will help you understand “why” certain styles and cuts look best on you, and help you look fabulous everyday!
What other services does Unfoldid offer?
In addition to our signature services, we also provide all the “usual” styling services such as closet editing, outfit creation, event dressing and personal shopping.
What is closet editing and do I need it?
If you have a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear; if you never seem to have the right outfit for specific occasions; or if you’re not sure if pieces in your wardrobe are still in style or the right cut for you - then a closet edit is for you. Your Unfoldid Stylist will help you determine what is working in your closet and also create a shopping list identifying some of the missing pieces that will help you look great no matter what the event. She will also work with you to identify pieces that may need to be donated, or perhaps tailored for an updated look that will work well with the rest of your wardrobe. A closet edit can be life-changing and take the stress out of getting dressed everyday!
Can I choose the Unfoldid stylist I want to work with?
Based on your Style Profile Form and lifestyle, we will recommend an Unfoldid Stylist who we think you will love working with. We also encourage you to learn more about each of our stylists where you can read about their inspirations and experience and follow us on social media.
Where do I meet with my Unfoldid Stylist?
Your Unfoldid Stylist will shop and deliver your clothing to wherever is most convenient for you, whether that’s your home, office, or at our studio. We love to work as close to your closet as possible!
Do I have to live in Boston to work with Unfoldid?
We work with clients in-person in the Greater Boston area, which means we have clients as far north as New Hampshire and as far south as Duxbury, Massachusetts. Any location beyond 30 miles of our studio, we charge a one-time $50 travel fee for the client.
If you are traveling or live further than 40 miles from our studio, we offer Virtual Styling.
What is an Unfoldid Style Home Party?
Spice up girls’ night or any dinner party with our at-home styling services. Our team of stylists shop for each guest to find 20-25 pieces to try on privately at the party and receive a personal silhouette consultation. As guests try on items, they receive expert feedback from Unfoldid Stylists to help them select which items truly fit their preferences, lifestyles and wardrobes. Guests purchase items they want at the party with a credit card, cash or check and then take purchases home that day! There’s no obligation to purchase, you only go home with pieces you love! The Unfoldid team returns remaining items at no additional charge.
About the Appointment
How did my Stylist shop for me without meeting me first?
Your Style Profile Form gives your Unfoldid Stylists all the information they need. The questions you answered and comments you gave were all intended to inform our Stylists of not only your personal style but your lifestyle, sizing and your budget. Our Unfoldid Stylists are up to date on styles and trends and they know what cuts will work best for your silhouette. For example, our Stylists are aware of the differences between a Theory size 8 and a Calvin Klein size 8, and armed with measuring tape and a huge body of knowledge - each piece they bring should be a match! Our Stylists are professionals, and each time you meet, she will know you and your style even better!
What if I’m still not sure what to buy at the end of my appointment with the stylist?
Your Unfoldid Stylist is there to guide you in making good decisions. No matter the budget, there are ways to spend wisely! We can talk you through the pros and cons of each piece, and use our expert knowledge to recommend the perfect pieces you will wear and love!
Can I get my friends’ opinions on the clothing pieces I am trying on?
We love when our clients want to show off a great piece or a great outfit! While our friends and family are fun to shop with, our stylists have years of experience and knowledge that help form their recommendations. We suggest you use your appointment time to take advantage of the one-on-one attention, ask questions and understand how to dress your best. A professional stylist’s job is to make you look your best, NOT to make you look like anyone else!
Can I return the pieces I purchase?
All sales are final. Every item of clothing you try on with your Unfoldid Stylist is analyzed as to why or why not it works for you. We will advise you to NOT purchase an item if the look/cut/color is not flattering or you do not feel your best. That means your purchases are smart, well-advised and well thought out. We want you to wear each piece with pride, and expect friends and family to notice!
I’d love to work with my Stylist again, what are my options?
The relationship you create with your Unfoldid Stylist can be very important to you, and to us! The trust and rapport that is built cannot be underestimated, and always results in wonderful, unique, perfectly paired pieces that match your personal style, lifestyle and budget.
