Work Outfit Ideas for Cold Winter Days

The biggest winter wardrobe dilemma we all face is having to choose between fashion and warmth. Dressing for temperatures 30 degrees and below, while needing to look polished can seem impossible! Don’t fret, we’ve put together four outfits for you that require minimal effort and lead to maximum girl boss results.

Pro Tip: If you feel like wearing a more delicate pair of boots or shoes with your outfit then wear a pair of warm and durable winter boots to brave the elements outdoors and bring your favs to change into once you are safely indoors.

And remember these looks start with a basic foundation and CAN be adjusted with minor changes or add-ons, to make them appropriate for YOUR specific workplace. We hope you enjoy these inspirational looks!

Thin Knits -Your Tee Shirt for Winter

A thin knit is a staple piece in winter — they keeps you warm and cozy and can be easily layered and changed for multiple outfits. We love this version layered under a jacket, then belted - or try it with a chunky cardigan (yes, a sweater over a sweater!). Incase the temperature soars I wear a thin tank underneath so I can always de-layer. You will reach for this sweater over and over in the winter months and all year round!

Live in Layers -or Try a Vest

A sweater or turtleneck layered underneath a structured wool jacket or vest is cold-proof and back on trend. If that’s a little too warm, you can always opt for a sleeveless mock-turtleneck sweater.

Paired over a sleek pencil skirt, a great trouser or even denim this is an easy office-friendly outfit. Complete your skirted look with tights and knee boots (which are also back!) or pumps if you need a dressier look.

Modernized Corporate- Pants

Straight, bootcut and wide-leg pants are in. And warmer than denim. To balance out the flare, pair with a fitted top and a sharp tailored blazer.

To break up this traditional look, we played with small fun details like a black and white print trouser. Add colored heels or accessories for a pop of color.

Dressing Down

Winterize any of your favorite sleeveless dresses with a turtleneck underneath — a great way to extend the season and a sleeker look than layering dresses with cardigans or jackets.

Wear heavy tights (we love the polar fleece lined for really cold days) or have the length of your dress overlap the height of your boot for less skin exposure!

Black turtleneck women

One of our favorites for layering!
