For whatever your date night plans are, our Stylists put together three different his & her looks for dressy, semi-formal, and casual occasions.
A Fancy Dinner Date
Hers (dressy): Why not pull out a little red dress this Valentine's day?! We know it’s a bit literal, but it’s also fun! Go for a figure flattering cocktail dress with classic black pumps and minimalist jewelry. If you are headed out to your favorite 4-star restaurant, add a black faux fur shawl. gloves or coat to keep you warm and add some extra glamor. Not feeling red? Opt for the look in a favorite shade.
His (dressy): Fellas, you can never go wrong with a classic suiting to impress your lady. Modernize your look with cool dark gray separates over the more traditional and serious black/navy. Show off your personality with an intricate print buttondown and skip the tie. Or go for a festive dark red tie (or color/print of your choosing) and trendy brown leather dress shoe or chelsea boot.
A Night Out for Drinks
Hers (semi-formal): Have some fun with your look and go playful and modern with a jumpsuit. Incorporate fun accessories and dare to-go for a bold red lip that you normally wouldn't wear while running the kids carpool. Or top off your look with a burgundy leather jacket for a cool-casual, yet current vibe.
His (semi-formal): Since this isn't just any date night, turn things up a notch and stay away from the weekend dad outfit. For a chilly night, layer your casual button down with a solid colored thin sweater. Take those new casual leather dress shoes she bought you out of the box. Trust us, she doesn't want you to wear your old stained tennis shoes with holes in the canvas! To "dress up" this look add a navy or black casual blazer then top with a classic peacoat.
A No-Stress Evening
Hers (casual): For those of us that like to look polished, and stay comfy and casual this is your perfect outfit: a classic bootcut denim (dark if you can) and a thin but cozy sweater or lacy black top. Add a belt or a great necklace for a touch of sparkle. Pullout that fancy leather jacket and expensive statement handbag that you normally wouldn't wear to impress your handsome date.
His (casual): Classic dark denim (without holes!) and a basic sweater, is the perfect date night look for dinner and a movie. Level up with a gray denim or modern khaki. Leave your favorite college sweatshirt at home and bring out that warm wool bomber for a cool-causal look. If an athletic sneaker clashes with your look, try a leather sneaker or causal boot instead.
