Spring Forward with Trends Coming to New England

We know it’s still anywhere from 30-something to 60-something degrees but, the fashion world is thinking and talking about spring style. Haven’t even thought about your spring wardrobe yet? That’s what we’re here for! Keep reading for more about trends to keep an eye on and shop just in time for spring.

Puff Sleeves

Oversized sleeves will be making a style statement for spring. Pair a puffy-sleeved top with a pair of simple jeans, shorts or a skirt. Puff sleeves build up the shoulder and therefore show-off and help create a waist. Just be careful not to over do the “puff”. Below are three of our top picks!

1.We love the white tee version for it’s simplicity and because it is not too voluminous through the body or in the sleeve, making it much more wearable

2. Similarly we love this stripe version that again highlights a waist while being loose and airy.

3. The black sleeve is not over done and the deep V prevents the whole looks from becoming top heavy by breaking up the shoulder and bust which balances the volume created by the sleeve. And we love the sleek bodice!

Cargo Pants

Yes, the cargo is back! Refreshed this season with more tailored cuts, interesting pockets, rich fabrics like silk, and bold colors. They are easy to wear since they work seamlessly from cool casual athleisure vibe to a glam night out. Take a break from the ubiquitous heels, jeans and a “fun top” and instead dazzle with a cool pant.

Sparkles and Sheer for Everyday

Super sheer separates are a great way to get a bit more coverage this spring. Sheer is not just for the beach anymore!

Below I had just come home from a creative meeting and removed my cream jacket. Sequins and shiny silver and gold can work for both day and night so break them out and add some casual glamour to your day time look! This top would also be great with light, white or dark denim!

Sheer tops are almost always shown with bras under but I’m not that daring so instead layer skimpy tank underneath with sheer over it for more coverage and wearability. You can also layer a thin sheer top in sort or long sleeve under a looser tank or a strapless top or jumpsuit.

Shimmer tank works day and night and I love this updated color.

This sheer skirt makes it easy by having an opaque layer under the upper half. If you fall in love with a full sheer version simply layer it on top of any other skirt to catch the sheer trend.
