  1. Parka: Not only are lightweight parkas a great statement piece, but they’re easily compatible to stow away inside a bag when they are not needed. Uniqulo has a great version this year.

  2. Leather Jacket: Nothing screams autumn like a well-fitting leather jacket. Leather can last a lifetime with the proper care. If quality is a priority, consider investing in a real goat or cowhide jacket as opposed to faux or ”vegan” leather. Bomber styles are back and so easy to wear and pair.

  3. Sweaters: We all love a hoodie, but sweaters are the style this year. They add texture and color to your look and provide a new options in-between the button downs to hoodie spectrum. Pick up a fit that isn’t too tight or too boxy in a thin easy to wear and layer fabric like merino wool or cashmere.

  4. Button Down Shirts in Utility Fabrics: Fall is the perfect time of year to mix more texture in to your wardrobe and this year we see oxford cloth and canvas style fabrics takeover. This more casual weight fabric is super versatile — wear it to work for business casual look, or dress it down with jeans for a fall day. And look for the on-trend button down collar this year.

  5. Denim: Denim is a wardrobe essential especially for fall and cooler months. This year stick with a perfect straight cut that is neither too skinny or too wide in a broad selection of materials and washes. For a casual look turn up the bottom of your more rigid pairs. Keep in mind that distressed denim are on the way out as we see the slow return of clean looking dad jeans — be ready next year for this transition!

  6. Corduroy: Denim is year round, but corduroy is is king in fall and winter. We are seeing the return of cozy winter fabrics including thin and wide corduroy pants in warm fall colors like navy, burn orange and camel. Pick up a pair and wear them the same way you wear your denim.

  7. Boots: Nothing beats a solid pair of quality boots for fall and winter and this year Chelsea Boots and Work Boots are both trending making it easy to find something that works for your lifestyle. The Chelsea boot is a sleek no lace clean look that works even with dressier looks while still pairing with denim. Work boots add a cool edge to any look and are comfortable and durable for any weather! If you need something sleeker check out the high top wingtip styles that also have a lug soul.

  8. Casual Sneakers: Stylish sneakers continue to reign and are a must in any wardrobe. White and light colors like beige and cream are more current, but a cool bright retro pair also work. Wear them with anything from suiting to distressed denim and anytime day to night.
