3 Casual Day-To-Night Summer Looks

As temperatures rise, we should all update our wardrobe with clothes that will keep us cool and comfortable. Our stylist put together three classic and easy looks, incorporating some day-to-night transitions, that will keep you cool and stylish this summer.

High Waisted Skirt and Tee

shirt, high wasted skirt, heals, and sunglasses

Sometimes you just need to be relaxed and casual but still stylish. The easiest way to achieve this is with the classic pairing of a t-shirt and skirt, leaving room for infinite style options. To avoid losing yourself in a baggy top, add a high-waisted feminine skirt to show off your figure. Effortless and casual, this combination keeps you cool, with light weight materials, and on trend.  Choose a short sleeve tee or if expecting a cool evening, long sleeves.

Take your casual look from day to night for an after-hours look, grab a leather mini skirt and edgy heels. In case it stays warm, layer a great tank under and then tie the top around your waist!

Summer Dresses

Casual summer dresses are great for a stylish no fuss look. Sometimes you don’t have enough time to get ready in the morning, so it is nice to have a trendy dress on hand. Let your little black dress take a back seat this summer, and make room for your little white dress. A t-shirt style is practical, crisp and cooling.

Pair with cute flats for daytime and a denim jacket if you get chilly, switch out for sneakers and a leather jacket for an edgy nighttime look.

The jersey tank dress is another alternative summer dress trend. With its light, breathable fabric and no-sweat-showing sleevelessness, a tank dress is going to be our go-to for all those upcoming August days.

My black and yellow ensemble is actually a skirt and top — endless possibilities for new combinations especially when traveling. Find similar pieces at Rachel Comey.

Add personality to your look with a trendy woven handbag and floppy sunhat, transition to wedges and a statement tassel necklace when grabbing drinks with the girls.

Off-the-Shoulder Top and Jeans:

Dresses not for you? Play up the whole t-shirt and jeans look with an off-the-shoulder top alternative. This trend is still going strong for summer, and why not show a little skin off with at glowing summer tan. With this popular trend anything go from silk to cotton, stripes or floral, dramatic shaped sleeves to short eyelet ruffles.

For the weekend, this top looks best with frayed denim or more casual boyfriend style jeans.
