The color-blocking trend is back this year with a modern twist. We expect to find neutral color-blocked pieces and lots of color-mixing trends as well.

So, what is color blocking?  Color blocking simply means that you pair two or three different colors together to make a bold statement.

When creating your color-blocking look, there are two key components to keep in mind: styling techniques and color scheme.

Monochromatic - use one color throughout your entire look in different hues.

Mix pieces of two or more contrasting colors to create your look.

One color-blocked garment or accessory is how we see most color-blocking in fashion.

Complementary - this color combo method works well if you want to make something standout.

Analogous - this color combo approach is more harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

If you don't feel totally confident putting together a color-blocked outfit, try handbags, shoes, scarves, jewelry and other accessories that are still following the trend. Now there’s no reason not to participate in the color-blocking trend!
